Abstrak

This research focused on analyzing the students-teacher interaction in teaching reading procedural text. The purpose of this study was to find out the students-teacher interaction in teaching reading procedural text at the second grade of MAN 2 Aceh Besar. The researcher used descriptive qualitative research as the method in this study. The observation and interview were used as the instrument. Based on the research results and discussions, the researcher concludes that the students-teacher interactions happens in three stages. They are opening activities, core activities, and closing activities. In the opening activies, there some activities done by the teacher and students. The activities are greetings, asking student’s condition, checking students’ attendance list, and asking the students about previous lesson and telling the materials that will be learnt by the students in the meeting. Moreover, in the core activities, there are some activities. They are the teacher told the students to open their book, the teacher gives the example on how to read the text clearly and how to pronounce it well, the teacher asked the students which words they did not know in the text, the teacher help the students learn the material which they do not understand yet, the teacher motivating the students to study, and the teacher gave reward for the students activity. In the closing activities, there are two activities done by the students and teacher in the teaching and learning reading procedural text. They are giving appreciation and ending the lesson.
