The students' volleyball smash ability is still not maximal, this can be seen by volleyball smashes
such as jumping against the net, a ball that is not hit by the palm of the hand when it is hit, the
direction of the ball that bounces or hits the net. The formulation of the problem in this study is: is
there a relationship between height and leg muscle explosive power with smash ability in volleyball
extracurricular participants at SMP Negeri 1 Makmur. This study aims to determine the
relationship between height and leg muscle explosive power and smash ability in volleyball
extracurricular members at SMP Negeri 1 Makmur. The approach used in this research is
quantitative with the correlation method. The population in this study were 20 volleyball
extracurricular members at SMP Negeri 1 Makmur, totaling 20 students. The sampling technique
was total sampling, so the sample in this study consisted of 20 volleyball extracurricular
participants at SMP Negeri 1 Makmur. The data collection techniques used were height tests,
vertical jump tests and smash abilities. The data analysis technique was used by calculating the
mean (mean), standard deviation (SD), correlation coefficient, significant test and multiple
correlation. The results showed that there was a relationship between height and explosive power of
leg muscles with smash ability in volleyball extracurricular members at SMP Negeri 1 Makmur.
The results of the analysis obtained the t-value of height (X1), leg muscle explosive power (X2) and
smash ability (Y) of 2.410, while the t-table with 20-2 degrees of freedom (dk = 18) at the
significance level α = 0.05 is 1.734. This means that the t-count value is greater than the t-table
value or 2.410 ≥ 1.734.

Kemampuan smash bola voli siswa masih kurang maksimal hal ini terlihat smash bola voli
seperti lompat menumbur net, bola yang tidak terkena telapak tangan saat dipukul, arah
bola yang melambung atau menyangkut di net. Rumusan masalah dalam penelitian ini
adalah: apakah terdapat hubungan tinggi badan dan daya ledak otot tungkai dengan
kemampuan smash pada siswa peserta ekstrakurikuler bola voli di SMP Negeri 1
Makmur. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan tinggi badan dan daya
ledak otot tungkai dengan kemampuan smash pada siswa peserta ekstrakurikuler bola
voli di SMP Negeri 1 Makmur. Pendekatan yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah
kuantitatif dengan metode kolerasi. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa peserta
ekstrakurikuler bola voli di SMP Negeri 1 Makmur yang berjumlah 20 siswa. Adapun
teknik pengambilan sampel yaitu total sampling, jadi sampel dalam penelitian ini
berjumlah 20 siswa peserta ekstrakurikuler bola voli di SMP Negeri 1 Makmur. Teknik
pengumpulan data yang digunakan tes tinggi badan, tes daya ledak otot tungkai (vertical
jump) dan kemampuan smash. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan dengan mengitung
nilai rata-rata (mean), standar deviasi (SD), koefisien kolerasi, uji signifikan dan kolerasi
ganda. Hasil penelitian diketahui bahwa terdapat terdapat hubungan tinggi badan dan
daya ledak otot tungkai dengan kemampuan smash pada siswa peserta ekstrakurikuler
bola voli di SMP Negeri 1 Makmur. Hasil analisis diperoleh nilai t-hitung dari tinggi badan
(X1), daya ledak otot tungkai (X2) dan kemampuan smash (Y) sebesar 2,410, sedangkan ttabel dengan derajat kebebasan 20-2 (dk = 18) pada taraf signifikasi α = 0,05 adalah sebesar
1,734. Hal ini berati nilai t-hitung lebih besar dari nilai t-tabel atau 2,410 ≥ 1,734.
