PENGARUH METODE PEMBELAJARAN BRAINSTORMING TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN MENULIS TEKS CERITA PENDEK SISWA KELAS VIII SMP NEGERI 16 KOTA BANDA ACEH

Abstract

This study aims to find out how the influence of students' ability to write short story texts using the Brainstorming Method. This Brainstorming learning method requires students to generate creative ideas without the need to criticize various thoughts. Thus increasing critical and innovative thinking in each individual. This research is an experimental research with the approach used in this research is descriptive quantitative. The research design used in this study was a pre-experimental design (weak experimental) which was not yet a serious experiment, while the form of the design was "one group pretest-posttest design", namely research using only one experimental class without any comparison class or control class. The stages carried out by researchers are: 1). Initial stage (pre-test), 2). Treatment (treatment), 3). The final stage (post-test), and 4). Questionnaire. This research activity was conducted at SMP Negeri 16 Kota Banda Aceh class VIII.2 with a total of 24 students. The results of this study can be seen based on testing the hypothesis using the correlation test by paying attention to the magnitude of the rxy obtained, which is 0.76284, which ranges from 0.60 to 0.799. At a significant level of 5%, a value of 0.404 is obtained and at a significant level of 1%, a value of 0.515 is obtained. Furthermore, it is compared with "rxy" with "rt" as it is known which is obtained with a value of 0.76284, while rt is 0.404 and 0.515 respectively. Thus the calculated rxy or "r" is greater than the "r" table (rt), then the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted. Thus it can be concluded that there is a positive influence between the Brainstorming learning method (variable x) and the ability to write short story texts of students (variable y).
