Abstract

Chronic kidney failure (CKD) is a urinary disease caused by a decrease in kidney function that fails to perform its function to maintain the body's hemostasis (Fay 2017). Chronic kidney failure has become a major health problem with a high incidence, chronic    kidney failure patients require treatment that is quite expensive, and takes a long time and high patience to undergo hemonalysis therapy (Harrison, 2013). The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between demographic characteristics and individual coping functions in patients undergoing hemodialysis at dr. Zainoel Abidin Hospital, Aceh Province. This study uses a quantitative research using a descriptive correlation design with a cross sectional approach, the number of samples is 71, the sampling technique uses accidental sampling 1. The results of statistical tests on the relationship variables of characteristics based on age and coping with patients undergoing HD at RSUD dr. Zainoel Abidin Aceh Province above the test results The chi-square value shows a p-value of 0.009 (p<0.05), which means Ha is accepted. This indicates that there is a relationship between characteristics based on age and coping with patients undergoing hemodialysis at dr. Zainoel Abidin Hospital, Aceh Province. 2. The results of statistical tests on the relationship variables of characteristics based on gender with coping with patients undergoing HD at RSUD dr. Zainoel Abidin Aceh Province above the results of the chi-square test showed a p-value of 0.023 (p> 0.05). gender and coping with patients undergoing hemodialysis at dr. Zainoel Abidin Hospital, Aceh Province. 3. The results of statistical tests on the relationship variables of characteristics based on education and coping with patients undergoing HD at RSUD dr. Zainoel Abidin Aceh Province above the chi-square test results show a p-value of 0.391 (p <0.05) Ho is accepted, meaning there is no relationship between Characteristics based on sex with coping of patients undergoing hemodialysis at dr. Zainoel Abidin Hospital, Aceh Province. 4. The results of statistical tests on the relationship variables of characteristics based on education with coping with patients undergoing HD at dr. Zainoel Abidin Hospital, Aceh Province above the chi-square test results show a p-value of 0.553 (p <0.05) Ho is accepted, meaning there is no relationship between job-based characteristics and the coping of patients undergoing
