Abstract

Hallucinations are perceptual disturbances where the patient expresses something that is not actually happening, anxiety, fear, worry and stress are normal feelings experienced by humans everyday, Cognitive therapy is a short-term therapy and is done regularly, which provides a rationale for the patient to express feelings the negative. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of cognitive group therapy on the anxiety level of clients with auditory hallucinations at the Banda Aceh Mental Hospital. This study uses quantitative research with a quasi-experimental design. The time of this research was carried out on July 20 to August 08, 2022. The population was 62 auditory hallucinations
patients, the sampling technique used was total sampling. Analysis of the data in this study using the Wilcoson test. The results of data analysis showed that there was a difference before and after the administration of cognitive therapy with a p value of 0, 000 < 0.05, which means that there is an effect of cognitive group therapy on the anxiety level  of clients with auditory hallucinations. Suggestions are expected for research sites, especially nurses, to apply cognitive therapy more often to reduce anxiety in patients.
