FACTORS AFFECTING THE BEHAVIOR OF HAND WASHING WITH SOAP IN SD N ALUE BU STUDENTS IN THE DISTRICT PEUREULAK WEST DISTRICT EAST ACEH

Abstract

Washing hands with soap is one of the sanitation measures by cleaning hands and fingers using water and soap by humans to be clean and break the chain of germs. Washing hands with soap is known as an effort to prevent disease. This is done because hands are often agents that carry germs and cause pathogens to transfer from one person to another, either by direct contact or indirect contact (using other surfaces such as towels, glasses). As for the formulation of the problem in this study, what are the factors that influence the behavior of washing hands with soap in SD N Alue Bu students in Peureulak Barat District, East Aceh Regency?. This research design uses a quantitative approach. The population in this study were all sixth grade elementary school students totaling 54 students. The sampling technique used is Porposive sampling with the sample criteria in this study being sixth grade elementary school students. The results of this study there is a relationship between the knowledge factor and the behavior of washing hands with soap (0.028 < 0.05), there is a relationship between the attitude factor and the behavior of washing hands with soap (0.040 < 0.05. Based on the results of the study above, it can be concluded that the knowledge factor and the attitude factor are shows a significant value on hand washing behavior, this is because hand washing is something that is often done but not all people apply it as recommended, especially among children who are still vulnerable to all the playing activities they do. can be prevented by washing hands with soap in between, respiratory tract infections, worm infections, and diarrhea.It is recommended for students of SD N Alue Bu to apply the behavior of washing hands with soap as recommended.
